Abstract

J C Taylor London: Cambridge University Press I976 pp xv + 167 price £10 Following the success of quantum electrodynamics and the ability within that theory to use relativistic perturbation and renormalization techniques to carry out calculations to arbitrary high order in the fine structure constant, there were attempts to develop a similar theory of the weak interactions. Current-algebra techniques suggested that a universal interaction could result if the weak interactions, like electromagnetic interactions, were propagated by a spinone boson.
