Abstract
Among 50 patients with iron deficiency anemia, 3 young women (17 to 38 y.o) presented with atrophic and achlorhydric chronic gastritis as the sole cause of the disease. Fundic atrophy (3/3), hypergastrinemia (3/3) ranging from 725 to 1068 pg/ml and anti parietal gastric cell antibodies (2/3) were present. Seric folatemia and B 12 vitaminemia were normal ; anti-intrinsic factor antibodies were absent. Iron and ascorbic acid intakes were normal. The authors discuss the interrelations between iron deficiency, « type Achronic gastritis and latent pernicious anemia.
