Abstract
Gas-liquid mass transfer behavior in an internal loop airlift reactor containing low-density particles was investigated. The time-domain analysis was applied to calculate the overall K L a and K L a in individual sections. The effects of the operating parameters including the superficial gas velocity, solids loading, and temperature on the K L a were analyzed. In addition, the distinctions in the K L a between two- and three-phase airlift reactors were discussed.
