Abstract

The gain of a gasdynamic CO laser utilizing a hydrogen-containing mixture was calculated using generalized data on the VT and VV relaxation times of CO and H2 molecules. Deexcitation of excited carbon monoxide molecules by hydrogen atoms was taken into account. Laser emission was recorded experimentally from a CO gasdynamic laser utilizing the combustion products of an acetylene-oxygen mixture diluted with argon.
