Abstract
SummaryArterial pO2, pCO2, and pH values, taken in awake cynomolgus monkeys were 109 ± 10 mm Hg, 28 ± 5 mm Hg, and 7.25 ± 0.08, respectively. These values represent a picture of severe nonrespiratory (metabolic) acidosis. Several possible mechanisms of this acidosis have been discussed.
