Abstract

AbstractGas permeation rates for helium, nitrogen, argon, and oxygen have been studied by using freezedried cellulose acetate membrane. When the gas permeation rate in freeze‐dried cellulose acetate membrane is high, the gas permeation rate through the pores is predominant. On the other hand, when this rate is small, it is predominant at the dense part, except for the pores. Therefore the gas permeation rate in freeze‐dried cellulose acetate membrane can be explained by the sum of two gas permeation rates.
