Abstract

In order to clarify the data on the energies and intensities of the γ rays emitted in the decays of the odd-mass Pt isotopes, which are often used as monitors in experiments to measure cross sections or excitation functions, a new spectrometric study has been undertaken of the decays of 191,193,195,197,199Pt using samples produced in the neutron irradiation of natural Pt. Energy values have been determined by comparison to known calibration sources down to an uncertainty of 10 eV for the strongest lines, and relative intensities often to an uncertainty of 1%. More precise absolute branching ratios were determined for several cases. New and more precise values for the half-lives were also determined.
