Abstract
Radiation has been one of the most important phenomena since its discovery, and it has been used in different fields. Due to its hazardous effects, it should be shielded, and thus, new alternative materials should be developed. In this study, the radiological parameters of two types of composite materials were calculated at gamma ray energies of 10−3–105 MeV. These gamma-ray-shielding parameters are the mass attenuation coefficient, linear attenuation coefficient, mean free path, half-value layer, tenth-value layer, atomic cross-section, electronic cross-section, effective atomic number (Zeff), effective electron density (Neff), effective conductivity (Ceff), equivalent atomic number (Zeq) and exposure buildup factor of the two different composites. The calculations were done using the Phy-X/PSD software.
