Abstract

The relative gamma intensities in the decay of Ir 192 have been measured in a bent-crystal spectrometer and a double focussing beta spectrometer in order to compare the accuracy of the crystal diffraction and photoconversion methods. Fifteen gamma transitions in the energy region of 136 to 613 keV have been studied; the intentities of ten of these were measured in both spectrometers. The intensity determinations from the two methods give equal results within the experimental errors of about 10%. Accurate gamma energy determinations were also performed. The decay scheme of Ir 192 is discussed.
