Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is breast milk that is given to babies for 6 months and without being given other additional foods such as formula milk, honey, oranges, tea and water and other solid foods. The purpose of this study was to describe the status of breastfeeding for infants in Paluh Sibaji village, Pantai Labu sub-district, Deli Serdang district. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The results showed that the description of the status of breastfeeding for toddlers in Paluh Sibaji Village, Pantai Labu, Deli Serdang, was classified as poor because of the lack of knowledge obtained by respondents in terms of breastfeeding to children whose mothers were dominated by elementary school graduates.
