Abstract

Sondheimer oscillations were observed on a polycrystal and a single crystal of indium. The oscillation period and the magnetic field dependence of oscillation amplitude for polycrystalline indium were explained by the use of the results for single crystal. Experimental results on the single crystal were compared with the 6-OPW model calculation by Trodahl in (100) and (110) planes, and with a 1–OPW model calculation in the present work in (011) plane. From the experiments on the Macdonald position, the maximum momenta in [010] and in [001] were obtained. The results on Macdonald effect were in good agreement with the one observed in r f size effect by Gantmakher et al.
