Abstract

The corrosion behavior of titanium-coupled aluminum bronze (albronze) in artificial sea water, under cathodic polarization conditions, was investigated. Galvanic corrosion of albronze was found to be a function of the titanium/albronze area ratio, the applied potential and the fluid flow velocity. The current distribution to titanium or albronze varied with the change in the applied potential. Calcareous deposits at more negative applied potential increased the corrosion resistance of albronze.
