Abstract

Selective reduction of nitric oxide with propane in the presence of excess oxygen was investigated using gallium ion-exchanged zeolite catalysts. Gallium ion-exchanged ferrierite (Ga-ferrierite) showed extremely high selectivity for this reaction under oxygen-rich conditions (10%). The molar ratio of reacted NO to consumed C3H8 was found to be near 3 on Ga-ferrierite.
