Abstract

The binary system Ga-Sb has been investigated by thermal, X-ray, and metallo-graphic methods. The intermetallic compound GaSb melts at 705.9°C and forms a eutectic with antimony at 11.8 atomic pet Ga. This eutectic melts at 589.8°C. A eutectic appears to be formed at 29.8°C but is too close to the composition of pure gallium to be detected.
