Abstract

A model of a free nonrelativistic particle of arbitrary spin in the configurational manifold consisting of space-time ×2-sphere is proposed. The particle mass and spin are conserved at the relation surface, while the physical subspace coincides with a coorbital of the Galileo group. It is shown that, in the background field, the equations of motion of a nonrelativistic particle are always consistent, regardless of the number of nontrivial gage symmetries of the model. The massless limit of a Galileo particle with spin corresponding to a degenerate coorbital is considered. It is shown that quantization of a massless particle leads to the description of helicity in terms of coherent states of theSO (3) group.
