Abstract

This paper deals with the problematic of intelligent railway vehicle systems subjected to changing operational conditions, such as the changing velocity of travel and track curvature changes. In general such big parameter variations can not be handled properly by a fixed gain controller, therefore the applicability of Gain-Scheduling control technics are examined. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness ci proposed control technics two simple railway vehicle systems are considered. The first model is a demonstration example of an Electro-Dynamic Suspension (EDS) system, while the second model is a complex railway wheelset system. The control tasks are solved based on the linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) and the Multi-Model based H Gain-Scheduling control approaches, respectively.
