Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate the modelling and control of a 25 kW, 13.6 litres/hour pilot-plant climbing film evaporator concentrating an aqueous sodium nitrate solution. This paper reports on the effectiveness of gain-scheduled linear lumped parameter models for the identification of the climbing film evaporator for the specific purpose of developing and designing industrially-viable process control systems.
