Abstract

This volume provides a guide to the rich and vast amount of scholarly writings on the Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti (1797-1848). While the literature concentrates predominantly on the composer's stage works, this volume also includes works in other genres such as instrumental, symphonic, and vocal chamber music. Books, articles, dissertations in most languages, critical editions, and commercial audio and video recordings are included. It is designed to be as useful to the beginning researcher as it is to the more experienced scholar.
