Abstract

Ga-67 scintigraphy was performed on a 46-year-old man to rule out osteomyelitis of the ischial bone. The patient had a history of spinal cord injury, neurogenic bladder, and multiple urinary tract infections, and presented with fever, penile swelling, and induration at the base of the penis. A Ga-67 scan failed to demonstrate osteomyelitis but revealed by serendipity abnormal uptake at the site of a penile abscess.
