Abstract

The convective boiling in a micro tube of 0.3 mm ID was investigated with relatively small wall heat fluxes and mass flow rates. In this experiment, we have found some peculiar superheat phenomenon, which deteriorates the heat transfer coefficient and makes the pressure loss larger. The degree of the superheat is dependent upon fluids and influenced by the specified wall heat flux. Their relationship is given in the form of the flow map with two distinct zones.
