Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate the role of GRK2 inhibition in PTH1R resensitization and PTH-mediated chondroprotection in OA. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a progressive degenerative joint disease, highlighted by chondrocyte hypertrophy, cartilage degeneration, subchondral bone remodeling, and synovial inflammation. Current treatments are limited to palliative pain management therapies with little potential to prevent further disease progression. Parathyroid hormone (PTH) has demonstrated chondroprotective and chondroregenerative effects in OA mice.
