Abstract

A novel method for computing fuzzy spatial relationships between regions in digital images is derived. The derivation is based on fuzzy mathematical morphology. The approach is to generalize the standard method of computing spatial relationships in binary morphology via a fuzzification of morphology based on the extension principle. The approach is compared to the aggregation method of Krishnapuram, Keller, and Ma (1993).
