Abstract

Abstract The paper outlines an approach to the probabilistic modelling of complex plants including human reliability assessment under uncertainties. The probabilistic model for the risk assessment is represented using a vector/ matrix formalism. Due to two types of uncertainties to handle, namely stochastic and fuzzy, a transformation of statistical data into the possibilistic form and next using a fuzzy approach for further calculations is proposed. Some fuzzy probabilistic and risk indices are defined. The approach has been implemented in a prototype software to perform probabilistic risk assessment under uncertainties to support the safety related decision making.
