Abstract
A fuzzy model-referring identification method is proposed for the estimation of a nonlinear deterministic trend model and a measure for the model error to use it for forecasting purposes. The deterministic trend model is assumed as a generalized logistic curve because a lot of evolution processes is ruled by transitions of this type.The method is tested and firstly applied to the description of the growth process of cracks in materials.
