Abstract

A novel Fuzzy Logic-based user scheduling scheme called “Fuzzy-based User Scheduling Evaluation (FUSE)” for ultra-dense wireless networks is proposed. The proposed scheme aims to overcome a drawback of the state of the art scheduling schemes - Maximum Signal-to-Noise Ration (Max-SNR), Proportional Fairness (PF), Exponential/Proportional Fairness (EXP/PF) and Modified Largest Weighted Delay First (M-LWDF) by providing a better balance between delay and throughput related parameters at scheduling decision making. The performance results demonstrate that the proposed scheme outperforms EXP/PF and M-LWDF.
