Abstract

The fuzzy logic controller, or FLC, is a sort of artificial intelligence (AI) control that provides improved signal waveforms at the output and decreases oscillations when compared to traditional control (such as output speed variation, torque variation, and current variation for the three phases). This paper shows two FLC scenarios, one with 25 rules and the other with 49 rules, for PMSMs with an external permanent magnet (Ld=Lq). The FLC can be implemented in real time since it is designed to be computationally light. Permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) with high torque density, low losses-to-torque ratio, high power factor, and rapid torque and speed responsiveness offer a broad range of novel application possibilities.
