Abstract

Permanent Magnet Brushless Direct Current (PMBLDC) motors are broadly used in plentiful applications due to its high efficiency and torque characteristics and commutation is carried out by means of power semiconductor switches. This improves the performance of the motor and various controllers can be utilized to regulate the speed of the motor. In this paper, the performance of BLDC motor has been presented with conventional PI and Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC). Further, both controllers are compared and analyzed from speed response with changing load. The fuzzy logic controller gives good speed response and better dynamic performances than with PI controller. The MATLAB/Simulink platform is used to perform the above investigations.
