Abstract

Assessing the defects of the software in the pre phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), will improve the quality of the software. Defect density indicators of the software identified in the pre and mid phases of SDLC provide a chance for the early identification of the problem which affects the software development and unexpected incurred cost. Early identification of the software metrics which affects reliability is important. However, there are numerous software metrics available in pre phases. Consequently we have selected only reliability relevant software metrics. Thinking about the uncertainty present in the introductory phases and the degree of reliability expected by the customer, in this article we arranged a model based on fuzzy logic techniques which empowers the scholars and industry experts to assess the number of defects before testing phase.
