Abstract

This paper is an extension of our previous work [4] on the influence of the fuzzy implication operator on the method-of-cases inference rule. Firstly, we test some widely used fuzzy implication operators with respect to the recently introduced Smets-Magrez axioms [8]. Secondly, using an extension of a triangular norm to n arguments, a unified generalization of Zadeh's compositional rule of inference is presented. Finally, this extension is applied to a generalization of the method-of-cases under the above fuzzy implication operators.
