Abstract

Abstract. Extruded corn is an important ingredient of animal feed with high utilization rate. Good growth performance and high feed intake were found when the weaned pigs were fed pellet with extruded corn. A mathematical model was proposed to estimate the quality of extruded corn based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. In order to divide the grad of extruded corn, the evaluate factors U includes both the indexes of corn U1 and indexes of extruded corn U2. The moisture content of corn (wc), bulk density of corn (dc), protein content (pc), storage time (s), degree of starch gelatinization (sg), bulk density of extruded corn (de), moisture content of extruded corn (we) and pasting properties(pp) were selected to compose the evaluate factors set. Combined with the requirements of feed market and experience value, four grades were found to evaluate the quality of extruded corn finally. The membership functions were established with a mount of experimental data. Evaluate factor weights sets were determined by analytic hierarchy process (AHP). The verification experiments showed that this model can judge the quality of extruded corn efficiently.
