Abstract

When view-frustum culling is used to improve rendering speed in the flight simulator, unnecessary data processing remains. Specially, if the culling is performed by the absolute height information, crack between scenes naturally happens because different culling scheme are applied. To prevent this crack in flight simulator, in this paper, we propose a fuzzy logic-based hybrid culling technique which determines culling distance with several parameters together rather than absolute value. Finally, we demonstrate that the performance of the proposed scheme in the aspect of rendering speed is better than current culling scheme through experiment result which is implemented by pen source OSG(Open Scene Graph) graphic library.
