Abstract

A large amount of literature has tried to empirically assess the relationship between innovation and economic performance, but the empirical literature on the relationship between technological change and economic development models transformation in developing countries is very limited. The article empirically explores the relationship between innovation and economic development models transformation in China. In order to solve the multi criteria analysis problem, the fuzzy AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) is utilized in. The empirical analysis aims at assessing whether innovation had the impact on economic development models transformation in Zhejiang province. The results presented show that innovation indeed played an important role in economic development models transformation in Zhejiang and innovation output made the largest contribution. The technical service industry is also found to be linked to economic structural change and internal upgrade in tertiary industry as well as secondary industry.
