Abstract
This paper takes a radical review of the Standard method of provision of future subscriber services q, envisaged in the Intelligent Network concept and defined by CCITT and Bellcore. A long term architecture is proposed for the Intelligent Network which is both flexible and future-proof Such an architecture simplifies the customer access to the Intelligent Network for both service subscribers and service providers The constraints imposed by the Intelligent Network Capability Sets, or Releases, are removed. Therefore future subscriber services can be deployed without recourse to further switching network enhancements.
