Abstract

I shall briefly describe the X-ray astronomy programme in Japan for the forthcoming ten years. At first, I would like to mention that the Institute of Space and Aeronautical Science, University of Tokyo, was reformed and in April 1981 the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) was founded under the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture as the central institute to serve for all space science activities of Japan.
