Abstract

Experimental improvements which could lead to a significant reduction (up to ×10) in the uncertainty on the measured value of the muon magnetic anomaly, g-2, are discussed. A comparable improvement in the theoretical uncertainty would provide an exceptional test for physics beyond the standard model. Increased muon flux will be needed, and would be available at JPARC in Japan with the appropriate beam line development. A number of experimental changes are proposed which could provide the needed reduction in systematic errors.
