Abstract

Potential issues and challanges face the Scot's land regsiter should it seek to automate and then privatise its operation. Recent developments in Canadian and Australian land registries are used to iillustrate some of the issues that may arise. Given the nature of Scot's land law, it is suggested it may be better able to cope with both issues than other jurisdictions of a comparable nature.
