Abstract
Nuclear deformation energy of the superheavy nucleus 304120 is studied by using the macroscopic-microscopic method. Deformation coordinate space provide asymmetric ellipsoidal shapes for the two target-projectile nuclei. The Yukawa-plus-exponential model gives the macroscopic energy Shell effects are obtained by Strutinsky method. The main ingredient in the method is the use of a deformed asymmetric two-center shell model which provides the interacting levels within the overlapping configuration of the two fusioning partners. A complete set of spin-orbit strength parameters has been obtained leading to magic numbers Z = 120 for protons and N = 184 for neutrons. As a consequence, two fusion valleys are visible on the potential energy surface, shaped around double magicity of 132 Sn and 208 Pb.
