Abstract

The hybrid reactor employing fusion-fission reactions is discussed from technological and economic viewpoints. The hybrid concept as used with mirror machines and tokamaks is reviewed. Some advantages and disadvantages of using the hybrid system for breeding fissionable fuels are given. (MOW)
