His research interest focuses on water-based energy harvesting, electrical phenomena at the water-solid interface and bioinspired surface engineering. He received his PhD degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, USA, in 2008, his MS degree in microelectronics from Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2003, and BS degree in mechanical engineering from Jilin University, China, in 2000. His research mainly focuses on nature-inspired materials and devices.
