Abstract

Background: Acne fulminans (AF) is a rare subtype of acne, a common inflammatory disease of the pilosebaceous unit that can be triggered by the administration of systemic isotretinoin. Objective: The purpose of this article is to report the beneficial response to systemic fusidic acid in a case of AF. Methods and Results: This report documents the use and results of systemic isotretinoin, systemic corticosteroid, and systemic fusidic acid in an unusual case of AF. Conclusion: The use of systemic fusidic acid is recommended as a possible alternative to the therapeutic arsenal for AF.
