Abstract
Previously, we have shown that Ilotycin® (Erythromycin, Lilly), administered orally for three months, was well tolerated by laboratory animals. We now report similar results after daily administration for one year. In contrast to certain other antibiotics, Ilotycin® as the glucoheptonate salt produced no toxic manifestations following daily intravenous injections for three months in dogs. Also, Ilotycin® has been administered intramuscularly in dogs daily for four months with no apparent visceral damage.
