Abstract

ABSTRACT The mole fraction equilibrium solubility of diazepam in some {tert-butanol (1) + water (2)} mixtures at several temperatures has been correlated by means of the Jouyban–Acree model and also to evaluate the preferential solvation of this compound by the mixtures components. By using the inverse Kirkwood-Buff integrals method apparently is observed that diazepam is preferentially solvated by water in water-rich and tert-butanol-rich mixtures but preferentially solvated by tert-butanol in mixtures of similar proportions of both solvents.
