Abstract
SUMMARYIn Vicia faba, phloem fibres are shown not to take part in the active polar transport of auxin which takes place exclusively through the vascular bundles of young internode segments. Though transport of auxin through parenchyma/fibre strips does not seem to be active, it is slightly polarized in favour of the basipetal direction.
