Abstract

The problem of seismic waves caused by underground excavation is one of the most important ones for the safety of deep mines because in deep mines there is the possibility of occurrences of disasters based on high rock pressure, and it means that violent and sudden rock destruction will happen. This research has the purpose of estimating epicenters of elastic waves caused by breakage of rock and the elastic energy emitted. Now it is stressed that these phenomena are dependent on the geological condition and excavating state. Inadequate extraction such as isolated pillars leaves geological disturbances and the concentration of epicenters becomes thicker, and also larger strain energy is accumulated in the neighbourhood of the mining zone. So this zone will be prone to outburst or bump.
