Abstract

Tests on a high speed disc machine, with specimen metallurgy corresponding to a Vespa engine, to evaluate the lubricating ability of two-stroke engine oils show that scuffing temperature is a useful criterion for correlation with poston tightening tests. Increasing viscosity and bright stock addition improve the antiscuffing property of oils. An attempt has also been made to study the wear characteristics of two-stroke engine oils
