Abstract

AbstractThis study considered the possibility of intensive culture methods for seabream (Sparus aurata L.). The methods and systems used are pointed out, with particular emphasis on hygienic conditions and daily water needs of production ponds. In this paper are descriptions of the diets followed, the feeding composition (percentage), and the quantities (percentage of body weight) distributed during the different growth periods. The final survival percentage and the increasing weight and total length of seabream juveniles are reported. These results may be considered quite satisfactory, especially in regard to the final feed conversion.
