Abstract

Since 1974, 93 men with erectile impotence have been treated with surgical implantation of an inflatable penile prosthesis. Followup has been 6 months to 4 years. Long-term functional success was achieved in 87 patients (93 per cent). Complications requiring 31 secondary operations occurred in 27 patients (29 per cent).
