Abstract

A previously proposed model for the production of neutral strange particles in nucleus-nucleus collisions, based on the Additive Quark Model and nuclear cascading, is further developed. The model predictions on neutral strange particle multiplicities, transverse momentum and rapidity distributions are compared with the existing oxygen- and sulphur-nucleus data at 200 GeV per nucleon. The predictions for central PbPb collisions are presented and discussed in some detail.
