Abstract
Numerical results are obtained for the analytical solutions developed by the present authors in an earlier paper on the axisymmetric Boussinesq problem for a thick elastic layer under a punch of arbitrary profile. The load and deformation characteristics are plotted for cylindrical, conical, paraboloidal and spherical punch shapes.
