Abstract

Androgen binding protein (ABP) has been purified and conclusively shown to have a subunit structure. Antibodies against purified ABP were utilized to detect an immunoreactive material in blood of male rats. It has been shown that this material binds steroid and is the same size as native ABP. Steroid binding by serum albumin has been shown to mask binding by ABP in blood.
